Khanacross General information
"Khanacross is for EVERYONE"
Khanacross is a fantastic entry level competition open to competitors as young as 12 years old. It is very easy to get started as there are very minimal vehicle and licencing requirements. Khanacross’s are also very popular with families, it is not uncommon to see Mum, Dad and the kids all having a go.
Khanacross is a competition conducted on predominantly unsealed surfaces, bitumen or a combination of both and involving a series of timed tests of various layouts.
Khanacross is not a speed event and no straight section of the course may exceed 100 metres in length without a turn of at least 90°. Each test shall be designed to test the acceleration, braking and general manoeuvrability of the vehicle and the skill and judgement of the driver. The course for each test shall be marked by the appropriate use of stakes, arrows and/or direction markers.
Licences:
Competitors in Khanacross require a Motorsport Australia Level 2NS licence or 2NSJ for Juniors, and will need to be a members of Motorsport Australia affiliated car club. For new competitors only, club membership and Level 2 licences can be obtained on the day.
Cars:
Vehicle requirements are very basic with most road worthy cars being able to enter, the only special requirement being a 900g fire extinguisher (bolted through floor in passenger area) and a safety inspection (scrutineering) on the day. You will also need to check the individual event regulation as some events only allow standard radial tyre (road tyres) and not rally or off-road tyres. National Khanacross Regulations
