What is KhanaKids Junior Development Program?

The KhanaKids Junior Development Program aims to teach new drivers basic safety and sound driving techniques in a controlled environment rather than using competitive motorsport events to gain these skills. The 500 Car Club recognise the importance of providing this opportunity to young people within the community and have put in place a frame work to maintain this program as a permanent fixture to its functions.

Who Can Participate?

KhanaKids is specifically designed for kids from 12 years to 17 years of age.
The course is ideal for those wishing to progress to
motorkhana and other Khanacross style events and is also a great opportunity for young adults who are just starting or about to start driving.

What do you need to Participate?

The main thing required to participate in our KhanaKids Program is a good attitude. The 500 Car club of Tasmania provide vehicles, course material and instructors. Participation in the program is free but places are limited.

When is the Program on and how do I find out more?

To find out when the program is on please seen the events calendar.
If you would like to find out more about KhanaKids Junior Development Program please contact the 500 Car Club of Tasmania's Junior Development officer

Our course documentation

Our course documentation is freely available for use by anyone, the student booklet contains information about learning to drive both manual and automatic cars, simple descriptions about basic parts of cars and how they work and some information about car maintenance. It also has some simple driving exercises to help kids get started (please note that these exercises should be done in a controlled area and not on public roads). If you have any questions please contact the 500 Car Club of Tasmania's Junior Development officer
For other Clubs our instructor and course documentation is available here.
