About the 500 Car Club of Tasmania
The 500 Car Club of Tasmania offers a wide variety of motor sport pursuits for its members.
Rallies, khanacrosses, and rallysprints at all levels are conducted throughout the year.
At State level, we conduct one or more rounds of the Tasmanian Rally Series, when everyone gets involved.
At “clubman” level we conduct a Club Rally Series comprising rallies, rallysprints and trials.
We also conduct a Khanacross series over the summer months, and this is a good opportunity to get involved with little cost and maximum fun.
Further to these, other events are often conducted that do not form part of any series, but exist purely for lighthearted entertainment.
All events are run under the auspices of the regulating body, the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport.
If you intend to compete in events, then you will need a Australian Motorsport Level 2 Licence, which can be purchased through our Membership Officer, or from the Australian Motorsport office.
The 500 Car Club holds several Club Nights during the year, and these are usually advertised on the site as an upcoming event, and on our Facebook page as well.
Club nights are informal gatherings and the perfect way to meet other members, and chat about all things motorsport.
Other social events are conducted during the year, like the Annual Presentation Dinner, cryptic trials and economy runs, trivia nights, just to name a few.
Membership runs for the full calendar year and falls due on the 1st of January each year, but new members can initially join part way through the year for a reduced rate.
There are two classes of membership: Full and Family.
Full membership allows you to vote at our Annual General Meeting and purchase a Australian Motorsport Level 2 Licence.
Family membership entitles members to the same rights as Full members across three generations of family.
The Club publishes a quarterly newsletter, which is emailed to all members. It includes a calendar of events, names of members on the Committee, new member assistance information, member benefits, various event reports and general gossip from within Club circles.
If you have any queries at all, then please do not hesitate to contact any member of the Committee, as we are only to willing to help you. Committee members can also be found at club nights – please feel free to approach us about anything at all.
We trust this information is of use to you and hope you will choose to become a member of one of Tasmania’s best car clubs – the 500 Car Club of Tasmania.
500 Car Club of Tasmania Inc is supported by the Tasmanian Government.
